SAE Institute Refurbishment
West End

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Refurbishment of the existing School of Audio Engineering (SAE) Institute to accommodate the consolidation of the Australian College of Applied Professions students within the facility.

Delivered across four levels, the project combined a campus-wide refresh with targeted building works to create a more neutral palette and upgraded learning spaces. The works included new floor finishes and painting, new reception and Tech Department counters, open plan staff work area, AV upgrades and creation of new editing suites. The existing filming space also received a new durable floor finish suited to its production use and the rooftop outdoor area was upgraded with artificial turf.

With the university remaining operational throughout construction, staging and programming were a key focus. Works were coordinated around class schedules, with larger and more disruptive activities undertaken during trimester breaks.
